My Favourite Movies – #Blogtober16

Today’s prompt is favourite movies and films I can watch repeatedly without getting bored.

All of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit films.
I love this series and seeing books from my childhood come to live has been an honour. I’m glad there was some time between the films so I could enjoy them as a teenager and young adult. The production is just amazing and the portrayal of characters is so true to the story. They both have a truly wonderful cast and filmaking team behind them.

Harry Potter
Another book to movie classic and something I can now share with my daughter as she’s also a fan of the series. I grew up with both the books and films and I’m so glad that they’re a fond memory of my childhood.

Fight Club
Another book to film…there seems to be a bit of a theme here doesn’t it? So many TV shows, song lyrics and other films have taken inspiration from Fight Club. A fantastic story and excellent acting throughout.

Anything by Quentin Tarrantino
I’ve lost count the amount of times I’ve watched Kill Bill and Djano Unchained. I really enjoy his film making and despite the films always being super long, they’re entertaining and gripping.

Most Super Hero films
X-Men is a firm favourite but I think my ultimate superhero movie is Guardians of the Galaxy. When I’m able to get pets I’m naming my first cat Star Lord.

All Tim Burton films…well, except Ed Wood.
Tim Burton is a bit of a legend isn’t he? I love how he creates epic characters and alternative universes. His animation is second to none.

Because every list of films needs a true laugh out loud comedy and this just tops them all for me. So many tears of laughter have been shed whilst watching this movie.

So there is my list of favourite films I can watch over and over. What about you?

  4. After seeing your list- namely Quentin Tarrantino and X-Men- I’m tempted to try Lord of the Rings, I don’t know why but it’s just gone over my head. #Blogtober16

    1. I’ve always really loved it, they’re a bit long but ah I just love them. I read the book when I was very young so I guess they are a little dear to my heart!

  5. Sarah HP says:

I love the Harry Potter films, my kids are a bit young for them just yet but I look forward to watching it with them. Fight Club is just amazing – so original and creative, I always see something new every time I watch it.

    1. Totally get what you mean about Fight Club! The book is amazing too and ends differently if I remember! I think it’s great that we have the opportunity to share Harry Potter with our kids as they grow up! They’re great books and films. We’ve got a few of the audiobooks too.
