Mini Kat celebrated her 6th Birthday last Saturday and as a little suprise for her we took her to Wetherspoons – her favourite place to have brunch. It was really nice just to have a bit of time together before the chaos of the party started and enjoy some food together.
We arrived around 10.30am and found a seat in one of the Booths in our local place. The breakfast menu at Wetherspoons is pretty much the same and quite extensive offering a range of healthy options, cooked breakfasts and light bites.
Mini Kat being the chocolate lover that she is went for a bagel with nutella, I had a breakfast wrap and Adam had a bacon roll. We kept it pretty simple really.
Alongside the food, Wetherspoons allow you to add on a drink for a little extra and has several breakfast and brunch appropriate beverages for you to choose from. Mini Kat had a very delicious looking hot chocolate topped with whipped cream, Adam and I had vanilla and caramel frappes which were very strong on the coffee.
As always food was at our table within moments of ordering, however, it is a place that gets busy and the tables aren’t checked very often so our table was dirty when we sat down. This was probably because we got into the booth as soon as someone left rather than the lack of staff available. It’s a huge pub, it’s open pretty much all hours and people like to go their for something cheap to eat.
The food tasted good, was hot and was in good company so we had a very good time and Mini Kat enjoyed her birthday brunch. I think the whole thing cost us less than £15 and filled me up! Perhaps thats because I was too nervous to eat again until after the party though…
Do you visit your local Wetherspoons often?
