Today my best friend and lovely boyfriend Adam is celebrating his 25th Birthday. It’s also the first time in the 3 and a half years that we’ve known each other that he’s on social media so he’ll actually be able to like this! If you want to follow him and wish him a happy birthday you can find him on Twitter as @TheFuriousLlama
I met Adam on a dating site in 2012 and we had our first date on 9th November. It was really
fun romantic as we went to watch Skyfall in the cinema – he paid, and then he bought me a chicken wrap from the local kebab shop. We stayed out talking until around midnight, sat on a bench and discussed a whole manner of things, mainly politics if I remember correctly. I also flashed him my knickers. Obviously that sold it for him!
We dated for a few months before he met Mini Kat and then we really started having some fun family adventures. He is a fantastic father figure to my little girl and treats her like one of his own. They have plenty of fun playing games, feeding the ducks and firing Nerf guns at the radiator. Sometimes they sword fight in the kitchen too. When Mini Kat first met Adam she was two and a half. I’m pretty sure that day she hit him, covered him in teddies and he says nothing’s really changed since then except I don’t need to act as a translator for her toddler jargon.
We moved in together in June 2013 and he has helped me to support our family as well as support all of my work based decisions which have been pretty up and down in the last three years. We’ve been to plenty of lovely places together and had our first week away together as a family in October 2014 to Isle of Wight. It was a fantastic holiday full of lovely memories and now we strive to get away as a family and as a couple every year. Last year we spent time in Devon, Blackpool and a cruise to Bruges. This year we’ve been to Disneyland Paris and we are off to Norway in August. We also have plenty of fun family days out which would have been very stressful as a lone parent.
So a very Happy Birthday to my Adam. It’s the first time we’ve not gone away for your Birthday actually but I’m sure we will have a lot of fun celebrating it together over the bank holiday weekend. Thank you for being my best friend, thank you for loving me and Mini Kat and thank you for doing the school run on a Friday! We love you!
