Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Tag

I do not usually do tags but actually I’ve quite enjoyed this one. Perhaps I’m a bit self absorbed but sometimes I like to talk about myself! That’s probably why I started to blog in the first place…Thank you so much to Clare from The Pramshed for this tag! I’ve answered her ten questions below to give you all a chance to get to know me a bit more!

For those that don’t know me, here I am! This was taken in the very early hours of the morning as our ship was sailing into Stavanger, Norway. Hence the no makeup!

  1. What is your favourite food and why?
I don’t know if I can choose between Tapas or Mexican…I love spice and both of these cuisines have a lot of this! Tasty, filling and full of colour.
  2. If there was one place in the world you would visit, where would that be?
I love to travel, there are still so many places I would absolutely love to visit in the UK and around the world. However, I really want to go to Disneyworld in Florida. I feel like I missed out on going as a child and it’s something I’ve always wanted to do so I will visit there at some point in my life!
  3. What do you do in your spare time, other than blogging or working?
I’m quite the introvert and love to snuggle up with my fluffy’s, a cup of coffee and a good book – be it paperback (I don’t do hardbacks) or on my kindle. I’ve recently started listening to audio books too to relax or whilst I’m out walking. I just love a good story, especially crime thriller fiction. I also really love to cook and experiment with food. I’m not much of a baker but I really enjoy creating meals for my family. Adam and I go to the cinema quite a lot, we both really love superhero films and if we’re not watching the films we’re catching up with Arrow, The Flash or Gotham on TV.
  4. When you were little what did you want to be?
I wanted to be a journalist for the longest time and did my work experience at my local newspaper which I loved. As I grew up I didn’t like the way some journalists act and I hated the fact that I would have to write about things I might not care about. Rather than work in the media I started blogging as a way to share my thoughts big issues, share my loves and talk about the things I care strongly for. Now I feel like I have the best of both worlds, complete control on what I’m writing and still sharing stories.
  5. What’s the best book you’ve ever read?
I would have to say Bird Box by Josh Malernan. It’s an amazing book. My thoughts on it wouldn’t do it justice but I really recommend every one read it.
  6. What’s your most embarrassing childhood memory?
When I was five I was a bridesmaid at a wedding, as I was walking down the aisle I got my knickers stuck in a rather uncomfortable position…being five and not really noticing what I was doing I untucked myself…it’s on camera. I can laugh at it now because I don’t really remember it but my grandparents like to remind me and took great pleasure telling Adam.
  7. What is your favourite song and why?
I don’t know if I have a favourite song anymore. I like to listen to music but not as much as I used to and I tend to listen to the same things I did as a teenager. Angela Baker and My Obsession with Fire by Senses Fail was always a favourite back then. I was a right emo. Now, I have sentimental feelings about Radioactive by Imagine Dragons as it was a band Adam introduced me to and the first song I heard by them.
  8. If you could rule the world, what would you do on day 1?
I’d probably get someone else to do the work so I could move on and do what I want. I like having control over my life but I really can’t be bothered with the responsibility of other people! I’d make sure I’d have a multi-passport and free cruise travel for life though so I could see every part of the world I was ruling.
  9. What sort of day have you had today?
It’s only about half way through the day as I write this. Not much has happened. I’ve packed one suitcase though for my holiday.
  10. Lastly, what do you want to achieve from blogging?
I want to harnass the skills I develop through blogging and the opportunities I have access to so that I can write a book. I love writing and using my blog as a way to develop my writing abilities and network with other lovely bloggers. I am always learning from them.

I’m not going to tag anyone specifically as I don’t want to put any pressure on anyone but I’ll add this post to some linkys and if you want to join in I’d love to find out more about you.

My questions are

  1. How did you name your blog?
  2. What is your favourite way to relax?
  3. If you could move to anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
  4. How would you describe your home life?
  5. What is your favourite perfume or scent?
  6. Do you prefer sweet or savoury?
  7. Where is your favourite place to visit and why?
  8. What is your happiest memory?
  9. What do you think life will be like in 2030?
  10. What were you like as a child and, if you have any, are your children like you used to be?
