Having Fun and Getting Active

This is a collaborative post.

We are one week down in our Easter break at the moment and having quite a relaxed time. It’s lovely having a bit of extra days as a family and getting out and about. We’ve got a lovely holiday coming up in July so we are staying home during this break and the next half term. One thing we do like to do though is get out and about in our local area so we’ve been thinking about some fun ways to keep fit and make these walks a little different.

Pink Scooter, Active

When you’ve got kids I think it’s so easy to get stuck in the same routine. I’ve been looking at ways to have a bit more fun on our walks and these mini MGP scooters seem to tick all the boxes. Evie is getting pretty tall and remains pretty fearless. She prefers to scoot rather than her bike but she’s well past the stage of her old scooter. Time for a bit of a revamp I think? Evie has a lovely pink one in mind and I love that this particular model comes with all the right safety gear too. Doing this as a family will make it a fun way to keep fit and active.

A good old bike ride is great this time of year, gets you out the house, the kids learning a new skill and having fun. If I could ride a bike myself I’d love to go on some family rides together. We are lucky that we have so many cycle paths, nature reserves and flat ground around here which is ideal for practicing and enjoying ourselves. A little trip to the local park is great too. Getting the kids climbing, running around, swinging and hopefully seeing a few friends. Sometimes we’ll even scoot all the way there and back again too.

First Bike Ride

It’s so important to keep healthy and active these days and there are lots of fun ways to do this especially if you can get the whole family involved. We have lots of parks within walking distance to our home and some have lots of other fun activities you can do together like pedal boats and crazy golf. I want to make the most of getting out and about now the days are lasting just a little longer.

We are also hoping to visit newly opened and refurbished bowling alley and have a round of glow in the dark golf on a day where getting outside just isn’t as desirable. There’s also a big farm park close by with lots of indoor and outdoor play activities. It’s nice to just have this time and let Evie play freely but still remaining active and having fun at the same time.

How have you spent the Easter break? How do you keep active as a family?
