Planning the Perfect Hen Do

This is a collaborative post.

These days people seem to go all out for that big finale before the big day. I’ve been on some really fun Hen Dos from weekends away, a night in the town to a slap up meal. If you’re planning a hen do there are a few things you might want to consider.

Location

Where is everyone coming from? If you’re all from the same area then you can plan something close by or a weekend away and all travel together, splitting the costs. However, if you’ve got guests coming from all over the country then you might want to consider something fairly central. Once you’ve found a location it’s easier to start planning the rest of the fun! You might then want to consider if you’ll be staying overnight and what type of accomodation you’ll require. Will it be a nice little lodge, a hotel, a holiday park…there are so many options to consider with plenty of room for all the guests.

Comfy accommodation for everyone is important to consider.

The Bride’s Tastes

Probably the most important thing to consider as it’s a night or weekend for her after all. What does she really consider a good time? A night in with a takeaway, a few funny games and good wine? Does she love a great night out, is there a new cocktail bar nearby you could try? The whole point is to make it all about her, make it special and fun. I know I’d absolutely love a weekend in a gorgeous spa with my friends, being completely pampered before heading out for a delicious meal and some cocktails. Having a lie in and not dealing with the kids would be bliss for many a bride to be. Getting your nails done is a great way to feel good.

Guests

Who will be attending? Make sure you’re on top of final numbers and know everyone’s names. Book in with things early to avoid disappointment and consider getting a pre-order of food for any meals. You might also want to consider getting hold of a treatment list for any spa trips and contacting your idea of places to see if there are any deposit options for larger groups. Remember to consider some places don’t allow hen parties so make sure you’ve read any terms and conditions before booking in.

Goodies

I love a little goodie bag and I think these are a lovely touch to give to the girls coming on the hen night. You could fill it with little pamper treats, sweets and maybe something to help any hangovers in the morning. Something personalised for the upcoming wedding might add a lovely touch too. Personalised miniatures could help get the party of to the right start and something all the guests will really love.
