Introducing Borough Box

You may remember in July I attended my first ever blogging event #BigBloggerExpo which lead to me meeting James from Borough Box. Last month I was thrilled to receive a box of goodies from James with some popular products to eat and cook with and we’ve all been making the most of the products over the last few weeks. I am really impressed with the quality of the products and I love that each one is just a little bit different.

My favourite and most used product from the box is the Basil Oil. It has a lovely basil scent to it and so many fantastic uses. We’ve used it for cooking, to drizzle over salads, pizza and pasta. My favourite way to use this was to drizzle over portobello mushrooms and grilled halloumi cheese. It really added to the flavour of the mushrooms and made it feel a little more on the gourmet side.

A family friendly product I recommend is the Paleo raw bar of which we received two. We took these to Norway with us thinking they would be a great snack whilst we were walking around the town and I was completely right. The packing is premium and the taste is great.

Another oil in the box was pumpkin oil which I have only used a few times. It adds a little bit of sweetness, I think, and is a joy to cook with. I’ve added a little drizzle to soups and pasta dishes as well as used whilst cooking sweet chilli chicken. I’ve also used the pumpkin oil with satay chicken stirfrys and it helps enhance the nutty flavour.

The Pink Hymalayan salt is another favourite. I love the colour of this salt and have used it with regular cooking and boiling. Like all salts you only need a pinch and I really feel there’s a difference compared to sea salts. It’s full of minerals too so I feel much better adding a pinch to family meals.

We all really loved the vanilla fudge. It was absolutely delicious and the first thing we tucked in to along with some peanut flavour indian shortbreads.

One product we’ve yet to use is the vegetarian caviar which is seaweed pearls, mainly because I’m not quite sure what to use it with but think it would make a nice addition to canapes, especially with smoked salmon and cream cheese.

The products provided by Borough Box are second to none. They are local businesses and are full of quality, unique and premium ingredients. Borough Box have two ways of trying their products which is the Borough Box Marketplace and the Discovery Club. If you’re a foodie that loves to try new products each month then I recommend the Discovery Club as you will get a monthly box, much like this one, for you to enjoy full of food, ingredients and drinks to try that month. Or, if you’re looking for something a little different but more specific, perhaps a gift for a food lover then check out the marketplace which is full of hampers and amazing products from cheese, chocolate, wines, beers, honey and, well, just about every other food you can think of!

Borough Box provide a great service and James was so lovely to work with that I was just thrilled when he asked if I’d like to review a box similar to what to expect from the discovery club. It’s so nice to be able to try new things and I can see Borough Box being a huge hit in the run up to Christmas.
