Here you will find my recommended gifts for 2016 including food, drink, homewares, jewellery, books and toys. I expect over the coming month this will grow to include more fantastic companies and products that I come across. For those that want to get ahead with their Christmas shopping then below are companies and items that I fully recommend.
Food & Home Gifts
The best place to find some fantastic foodie lover gifts is Borough Box. Read about my experience with them here. They’re a fab company with high quality, artisan products. They offer individual products, gift hampers and a monthly Discovery Box which is filled with hand selected products. These are products you’re unlikely to find in supermarkets and are excellent value. They have amazing cheeses, meats, wines, specialty drinks, chocolate…any type of food you can think off they have an inspired offer.
If you’re looking for some artwork then I highly recommend Sarah Taylor and her prints. She has a fantastic collection of absolutely stunning prints. We have The Monarch who is sitting very proudly on my desk. There are plenty of colours in the prints and lots of beautiful animals. The style is just stunning and would fit in any home this Christmas.
Why not grab some beautiful Christmas Flowers for loved ones or for the home over the festive season? I received these beautiful Christmas Red Roses from Prestige Flowers with a box of delicious chocolate truffles. Flowers are a lovely gift to give and the bouquet I received came with a beautiful glass vase and was wrapped so nicely. Flowers typically arrive the next working day and there are plenty of options to make them into a gift with extras, like the chocolates.
Seamingly Inspired is a great place to take a look at handmade fabric gifts. We received a gorgeous piece of bunting for my daughters bedroom in gorgeous colours. Laura is a real professional who is absolutely fantastic at upholstering and creating gorgeous, unique and individual pieces. Laura is incredibly approachable, professional and has a suberb turnaround time with personalised orders. She is a true perfectionist so every piece she creates is high quality.
Gifts for Children
If you can get yourself a Hatchimals Egg because this seems to be the toy of the year in 2016. They retail at around £60 and they are selling out fast so expect prices to change and offers to be around. They can be found at most toy retailers but it might be worth checking online to see when they’re in stock. Hatchimals are all my daughter is talking about at the moment. They’re toys that hatch out of eggs, super cute and you can then teach them to dance.
Furby is making a comeback this season with the brand new Furby Connect retailing at £100. You can find some fantastic offers on Amazon and get this for under £80 though but I predict they’re going to sell out super fast. We absolutely love our Pink Furby Connect however they do come in a range of colours. This one is super cool because it has a sleep mask which keeps it off and connects to an App, Furby World which is a great extension of the lovable toy. You can find these in Pink, Purple, Blue, Green and Teal.
Jungle Jam is a fantastic book for pre-schoolers and those learning to read with a focus on music. It’s a lovely picture book for children and shows them a huge range of different instruments. My daughter has really enjoyed this story and is really giving it a go by reading it herself. The book is aimed at up to five years however, if like me, you have a slightly older child that wants to read themselves then this is a fun book for them to do so.
Message in a Bottle is a very special book indeed with a personalised message for every child. The book follows the story of Kiki who has a message to deliver and she travels all over the world to get there. It’s a fantastic adventure story that my daughter absolutely loves and with a personal touch it becomes a real keepsake for the family.
Gift Wrapped with a Bow is a fantastic business that creates absolutely stunning bows, headbands and accessories. Betty, the owner, is creative, talented and her designs are constantly moving with current trends. You can find them on Facebook and place personal orders, she will do her very best to meet your requirements. Sets include novelty and festive hair accessories, back to school in the colour of the uniform you need, stationary accessories and lots of other pretties. Every single one is excellent quality and hand made.
Gifts for Women
If you are looking for something completely unique then I really recommend getting in touch with Sarah and her fantastic Facebook group Shiny Pretty Things. Sarah has a knack for finding unique and quirky accessories and gifts so she has set up a group with some amazing deals and bargains. Items include cosmetics, makeup tools, mermaid blankets, fashion, hair accessories, jewellery and glitter. Everything here is really affordable, she has regular giveaways and competitions and is really approachable.
Bella and Bow gifts is a beautiful website that specialise in hand and footprint jewellery. You can find something here for women and men. The items make absolutely stunning keepsakes and are just beautiful. Each piece is put together with thought and love. Products include bracelets, keyrings and cufflinks.
The Soap Mine has an amazing collection of hand made soaps. Over the last six months I’ve seen so many wonderful creations and colours of soap and I know these are created, fragranced and cut with precision, love and care. There are scents to suit all from sweet to fruity to floral so would make an ideal gift for anyone in the family really. You can find The Soap Mine on Facebook.
If you want some gorgeous Nail wraps then I recommend Eve, a Jamberry Nails consultant. You can join her Facebook group here for lots of tips, tricks and special offers or you can buy direct from her website. Eve has a fantastic selection of nail wraps for the festive season. These wraps are low maintenance, easy to apply and should last 10-14 days. One sheet of wraps is enough for all your fingers and toes too!
