Wow what a month April has been! It seemed to just go on forever as well but we had lots of exciting things to do. Down in the South the Easter holidays began right at the end of March for two weeks. Mini Kat loved having some time off school despite the weather being dreary. We did try and get out and about though. Adam and I went to a wedding on Easter Monday which was lovely despite the absolutely horrendous travel by train thanks to a storm that caused several landslides and our local train company South West Trains being awful, not updating anyone and cancelling trains at the last minute…they even announced one had gone missing. Excellent service from them as always…
I did something with Evie at school which makes me so happy! I was able to be a parent helper on her school trip to Harold Hilliers Gardens in Romsey and it was a fantastic day out. I was helping another class but got to have a bit of lunch with Mini Kat and also got to know some of the other mums at school which was really nice. We had a lot of fun hunting for Mini Beasts and Newts as well as wondering around the beautiful gardens on the day. The weather was really lovely too although the ground was still pretty wet from all the rain a few days before.
I had a really lovely night out with the mums from school too and we munched at Pizza Express with a fair few glasses of wine. It was really great chatting to the ladies there and getting to know them a bit better. I really hope we do another outing as it’s so nice to adult from time to time without the kids!
I also made the leap to a self hosted site and the blog has gone through a fair few changes but I’m really loving the new look and how it’s turned out. We made our final payment on our cruise to Norway in August and we ended April on a complete high seeing Captain America Civil War and another family meal at Pizza Express. Mini Kat is a big fan of dough balls.
April has of course lead to some lovely new product purchases! I’ve discovered a few new brands with one of my absolute favourites being Make Up Revolution. I’ve got my hands on some of their products and I am loving using them all. The Day to Night Eyeshadow palette was in Superdrug for £4 and the blushers were both £1 each. I love good makeup at a fair price so I’m really happy with what I got. I’ve started a 30 Days of Makeup Challenge too which you can follow on Instagram and Pinterest if you like. I’ve got a bit delayed and will be playing catch up but I’m getting there!
My dad very kindly gave me his Dulce Gusto coffee machine after we said a fond farewell to the Tassimo that had lasted me four years. So we’ve been able to try plenty of new coffees. I am loving the Chocochino’s myself! I love having a great coffee machine and it does make a change from instant coffee. However I’ve also been sampling the Lavazza Prontissimo Coffee which I was really impressed with.
I’ve also started using the My Fitness Pal app to track my calories, food and help me on my health kick journey before my holiday. I really like it, it’s so handy for scanning on food and also I love that it links with my health app that counts my steps. Now I just need to start making use of my gym membership!
Overall April was a good month with plenty of excitment and time outside despite the really odd weather! Now, goodbye April and hello Summer…hopefully!
