My Favourite TV Shows

Since our TV broke the other month we’ve had to resort to watching our favourite shows on a much smaller screen which is a little frustrating to say the least. We are considering a new 4K TV Panasonic as downgrading from a 51″ to a 32″ well…let’s just say it doesn’t compare and it gives us a good chance to see what’s on the market. However, it hasn’t stopped us from catching up on some awesome programmes recently on our favourite streaming networks.

Autumn is a great time of year for TV and I think it must be known in televerse. More people are at home in the evenings and weekends, relaxing with family so t see’s the return of some of my favourite shows. I have a bit of a soft spot for X Factor, probably because it’s been on for so many years now and some of the talent on there really does give me goosepumps. I’m also loving the Great British Bake Off, if my oven was working – honestly everything is breaking these days, they say things come in three don’t they?! I would be in the kitchen baking alongside and showing off my (very basic) skills. I’m really looking forward to The Apprentice starting again soon too, shows like these help me with the countdown to Christmas.

I am a huge fan of superhero shows so I was incredibly happy to see season two of Gotham and The Flash return to Netflix and Now TV. I’ve also been a bit late to the party and have finally watched the first three seasons of Arrow and I’m really impressed. Usually I don’t think the TV series compare to the big screen counterparts but all three have been equally gripping and entertaining. The stories and the characters are so captivating and I love being transported to a superhero universe.

I am anticipating the return of Pretty Little Liars. I got hooked over the summer and watched the all of the available episodes on Netflix twice. The season seven mid season finale was epic and I can’t wait to see what happens next. I’ve also seen that Once Upon A Time has started again over in the US, which is another great show full of fairytale and Disney characters. A few other favourites are Vampire Diaries, The Originals and Dexter. I honestly get through so many series on subscription TV services…well, at least I’m getting my monies worth!

What about you, do you have any favourite shows? Is there anything you’re looking forward to?

This is a collaborative post.

  1. Hi Kat, I totally agree that autumn is the season for indulging in our favourite TV shows. I am a bit of a Superhero fan myself, so must give Gotham and The Flash ago, it’s nice to have something to watch that my son will also enjoy.

At the moment I am enjoying watching The Good Wife. I like to watch an episode an evening just before bed.

Thank you for joining us on the MMBC.

I agree, it’s so nice when we can watch things as a family! Oh I do really want to watch The Good Wife, I’ve seen a few episodes and it’s really good, from what I’ve seen!

  2. I am exactly like you, I just shoot through tv series! Netflix has so many good ones that it’s so easy to get hooked. The PLL finale was amazing! I also can’t wait to see the new episodes. If you haven’t already you should try lukewarm cage, it’s a marvel Netflix original and it’s amazing! #mmbc

I’m thinking about Luke Cage, I’ve enjoyed so many superhero shows recently so might just have to give it a go as I do love Marvel! 🙂

  3. Eek! A broken TV is my worst nightmare….
Autumn is so good for TV….It’s got to the point now where I’m having to decide which shows I love more. Watch one and record the other.

  4. Hope you get a better TV soon, must be a big change! I love superhero-universe TV shows too, we really enjoyed Jessica Jones and Agent Carter! #Blogtober16

  5. I love Bake Off and The Apprentice too – although I think I liked the early series of the Apprentice the best when the people were a little less full of themselves! It usually has me shouting at the TV these days.

  6. We love a good Netflix or Prime binge. Ive recently watched the 3 series of Ray Donavon which I totally recommend on Prime.

  7. X factor is my guilty pleasure, I know it’s all fixed and not even a singing contest anymore. But I just can’t help watching it #Blogtober16
