Income ideas to support your blogging dream

This is a collaborative post.

If you are aspiring to be a blogger, or you are already a successful blogger, you have probably been faced with the choice of full time work or continuing your blog. Not only is it hard to find the times to write blogs, it is also hard to hold down a full time job and go to blogging events. Networking is one of the main things that bloggers do to get work and get to know people in the industry that become useful contacts. It can be hard to take the decision to make the jump to full time blogger, but luckily there are loads of things you can do that fit in with blogging that will help you to pick up some extra cash. You may have to mix and match them for a while before you start to get some more regular work, but eventually you should get to the point where you have less revenue streams.

Make some cash writing
You wouldn’t believe how easy it is to make money online from writing. There are two ways you can do this. The best way is through a broker website like textbroker or great content. They will have a list of assignments for you, and then you can pick what ones you want to write. When you first sign up, you will be given an assignment to write to get a rating, and once you have done that, you will be able to select articles from that rating.

The other way you can make money online by writing, is by advertising your skills on websites like Fiverr and Upwork. This will not provide you with a regular stream of work in the same way broker websites will – but you will earn more money. another thing you can do is to use your social media presence to advertise the fact that you are available for freelance writing work. This can also get you more money than using websites, as you can agree on a private fee with the client.

Trade online
This one may sound a bit ‘out there’, but there are so many online trading websites now like CMC markets that make it easy and accessible for the average person to trade online. also, if you are blogging and working from home, then you will be able to monitor the markets from your phone with a bit more attention than someone with a 9 – 5 job would. This is really handy, as you are able to use the website in practise mode first, without investing money, so you will have plenty of time to get used to all of the nuances of each market before you invest cash.

Edit pictures or videos
Even if you do not have a professional camera, chances are if you are a blogger you know a thing or two about picture and video editing. You can again use websites like Fiverr or sell these skills privately through your social media presence. As long as you are honest and upfront if you do not have an qualifications, and you are prepared to have a full portfolio of your work on hand to show people, you will still easily find customers.

Sell your photos
It may seem mad, but you can actually sell your photos online. While this is never going to make you rich, it is still an easy way to supplement income by doing something that you were going to do anyway. Fotolia is an example of a website that you can use to sell your images to others. As a blogger, there may be hundred of images that you have taken that are not quite right for your blog, so why not sell these unused pictures to people who may need them for their own articles or blogs. The only thing that you must remember is that if you are selling the image, you are also selling the rights. If you are going to sell an image to someone else for their blog or website, they then own it and you cannot use it on your own.
