quirkyu Haircare

Due to my network marketing business, I have a lot of uplifting and inspiring business people on my personal facebook account. This is great because it gives me the option to reach out and try new products. I recently saw someone had launched a hair care range and I was quite curious so I added myself to the businesswoman’s group and enquired about a tester kit. We started chatting and I informed her I would love to feature her products and business on my blog and I was very kindly given a couple of extra products to try and knocked off the postage cost too. I purchased the tester set for £10 which included Argan Oil enriched shampoo, conditioner, volume spray and protein spray. The extra’s were the blue hue shampoo as I colour my hair platinum, a sample of Argan oil and a sample of the Argan Gold body wash. This review is my own personal opinion of the products after continuous use.

Here is a quick video on what I had in my box…

I like to colour my hair platinum blonde and add pink streaks through it but this means it's lacking in moisture and very dry and brittle.

First Impressions

This is definitely a salon brand, the packaging is professional and well designed. I had a quick smell of the products before use and was happy with the smell. The Argan Enriched shampoo and conditioner had a bit of a palma violets scent which I am used to with other shampoo’s and quite like. The Argan Gold body wash is gorgeous and smells amazing. I love the gold colour, it makes the wash feel very luxurious.

Product Testing

I tested the products for around a week making use of the Blue Hue shampoo and both the Argan enriched shampoo and conditioner. I did find the Blue Hue to be a little drying on my hair, very similar to touch of silver weekly treatment and so thought this would be better as a treatment than a daily shampoo. However, using the Argan enriched conditioner sorted the dryness I felt out straight away and smoothed my hair quickly. I also found combining a touch of the argan oil and massaging it into the tips of my hair gave a more nourished finish and made my tips feel smooth and soft. You only need a small amount of Blue Hue shampoo to massage into your hair or you may find a slightly different look like I did when you dry your hair…again making me think this is best used as a brightening treatment and not a daily shampoo.

My hair did brighten in appearance from first use, however I think I used a bit too much with the purple tinge...I love it though!

The picture above is after using the Blue Hue shampoo, Argan enriched conditioner and a touch of Argan oil before a quick spritz of volume spray and then blow-drying. My hair still looks and feels sleek despite my hair battling the elements today.

Continuous Use – Week Trial

I washed my hair with the blue hue shampoo on Saturday and Monday then moved onto the Argan Enriched shampoo on Thursday and again on Saturday. Inbetween I used the volume and protein spray and massaged a small amount of argan oil into the tips of my hair each even before bed to get them looking more nourished. Even after a week’s use of the conditioner I still have perhaps one or two more uses which is fantastic as it’s a tester size bottle. This really makes the tester set worth the money, in my opinion, and the sprays still have lots left meaning I can continue using. These are going to be great to take with me on holiday as they’re a great size and it means I can still take care of my hair whilst I’m away.

As you can see I still have a generous amount in the tester bottles and I can see the sprays lasting a long time.

The argan gold body wash is a fantastic product and it lathers up really well with a shower puff. You really only need a small amount to get a good lather. With the added argan oil my skin felt soft and moisturised which was lovely and the best bonus was I didn’t feel oily like I have with oil enriched body washes in the past.

quirkydo was first opened around four and a half years ago. The owner, Rebecca, had gained a lot of experience working for a range of salons but due to illness realised she needed to make a change now she stands proud, with two salons and a great range of products including haircare and mineral makeup. Rebecca is a really lovely lady and has a lot of exciting things coming up for her brand, I can’t wait to see what she does next.
