The Copthorne Hotel Manchester is a nice hotel suitable for leisure and business. It’s located in Salford and is an excellent place to stay for those visiting media city or old Trafford. I recently spent one night at the hotel for my trip to Manchester to attend BlogOnXMAS conference – which was fantastic. The Copthorne hotel seemed like a great choice. It was £103 for a night in a room with a lovely big double bed and ensuite bathroom.
Check in was lovely and easy with helpful and polite reception service. My room was on the ground floor and just around the corner which was very handy with my luggage. Getting to the Copthorne hotel was really simple from Manchester Picadilly. I got on the Eccles line tram from the station and got off at exchange quay. It was around 15 minutes or so and the hotel is just around the corner from the tram stop. The hotel had plenty of parking for hotel guests.
I ate in the hotel bar during my stay and had a burger with sweet potato chips. The food was fine and filled me up, the burger was served on a brioche bun and with coleslaw on the side. The sweet potato chips were very thick cut, like wedges. I had a soft drink with my meal and even asking for a large one it was only one of the small bottles. I found this was fine with my meal though. The wait for food was around twenty minutes which I didn’t mind but did feel that it was quite long considering it wasn’t very busy and no one else seemed to be ordering food.
I then headed out to enjoy the blog on Xmas launch party which was great fun and located at hotel football. It’s around a 15 minute walk. Getting back at 11pm was not a problem and the reception is manned all evening. My room had a bath and overhead shower with complimentary toiletries. I made myself a hot chocolate, had a bath and then watched a bit of tv. WiFi is free in the hotel, including the rooms. My room in the Copthorne hotel Manchester had a mini bar where everything was £1.50. I helped myself to some water and two cans of drink and then paid this upon leaving.
Breakfast was included in my stay and that was very tasty. There was a buffet which included a full English, tea and coffee, juices, cereals, ham and cheese and some lovely pastries.
The Copthorne hotel in Manchester
is a nice hotel. The bed was comfortable and my room was clean. The staff were friendly and I enjoyed my stay. I do feel the decor is very outdated but this didn’t hinder my stay.
