madame alchemie apothecarie & perfumerie

March 29, 2020

as you should know by now i love reading, particularly fantasy books. i’m becoming more and more engaged in the bookstagram community on ig and have started subscribing to book boxes. from this i’m finding out loads of amazing bookish businesses that create wonderful products and talented artists. i think, so far, my absolute favourite has been discovering madame alchemie.

i received a rollerball perfume named god of lies inspired by the winner’s curse series and featured as an exclusive in the illumicrate february book box. since then i treated myself to some goodies for mothers day and now they’re here i am thrilled with my purchases which all smell just as amazing as i knew they would.

i decided to get the high lady rollerball perfume, deck of destiny whipped body butter, the maiden death bath soak and wraith lip balm. i was so impressed with the first rollerball perfume that came with the book box that i needed to try more products straight away. mikayla also sent me a lovely free gift of the kingmaker bath soak which smells so good i will absolutely be ordering a full bottle of that one.

madame alchemie is still currently operating her small business whilst she can but has decided to limit posting to once a week and is taking every health and safety precaution and ensuring the products are clean and safe. if she does choose or close temporarily she will have a customer for life in me when she returns.

i am becoming more and more passionate now i’m finding small businesses to buy from that are more in line with the type of products i love and want to use and share. madame alchemie’s products are all vegan, cruelty free and as ethically sourced as possible. packaging is plastic free and reusable which is great too. processing time is around a week as order are made to order. most products are in glass jars and tins and they just look beautiful anyway. the sample of kingmaker was in resealable plastic pouch but considering the type of product and wanting to dispatch it safely, plus the removal of most plastics, i’m really impressed.

i absolutely love the scent of the kingmaker bath soak, it reminds me a lot of a lush bubble bar, the comforter, with the blackcurrent fragrance. i love epsom salts, they make a bath feel like a spa and the bathroom just smells so good after using them. the wraith lip balm is scented with lemon and peppermint and melts on, its lovely. i wanted the high lady perfume as i’m a fan of jasmine and find those perfumes work well with my skin, i was not disapointed and now happy to have two beautifully smelling rollerball fragrances. the whipped body butter is probably my favourite scent out of my products and i will absolutely be getting the whole collection. there’s something wonderful about cocoa butter i think! and of course the maiden death bath salt soak which i can’t wait to use! upcoming products include a reed difusser which i need in my life
